Speakers Corner in London’s Hyde Park is the oldest free speech platform in the world. People won the right to speak in mass protests in the 1860s and early 1870s. Some people believe the tradition is connected to the right of the condemned to a last speech before being hung at the Tyburn gallows, a practice that stopped at the end of the 18th century. Every Sunday people from all sorts of convictions come to Hyde Park in the afternoon to spead their message or to have fun.

18-21 Counties Evangelist, Paul Willmott, works alongside a number of local churches, in the West Midlands, where he creates links with primary schools. Rebecca Russell is a part-time schools’ worker, who frequently works with Paul. She shares what evangelism looks like for her church.

22-23 Counties Evangelist, Mark Bingham, is passionate about other Christians seeing that “Evangelism is a way of life, rather than an activity”.

24-27 ‘Church in the Community Wollaston’, opened in 2021. It tried lots of community engagement opportunities, but it was only when the church slowed down and put the Gospel first, that the church began to grow. Counties Planter, Jordan Armstrong, tells Ignite how it happened.

3O-33 Chris Sinkinson is an author and associate pastor at Lansdowne Church in Bournemouth. He looks at how the local church might tackle the ‘big questions’ as part of its evangelistic strategy.

I was greeted with a lovely welcome from the pupils of Marchwood Infant School as I arrived for an afternoon assembly. The Head Teacher said, “The children are so excited to seeing you again!” and they were! Glad to say the were very quiet for the Bible story in which the challenge was to fit in the three core values of the school of hope, courage and love!

Marchwood Infant School was first contacted with the Counties ‘Key to Life’ Expo in 2023 and this has opened up a regular opportunity to take assemblies.
