Evangelism @ Speakers Corner Hyde Park London – sunshine & cold wind’

Speakers Corner in London’s Hyde Park is the oldest free speech platform in the world. People won the right to speak in mass protests in the 1860s and early 1870s. Some people believe the tradition is connected to the right of the condemned to a last speech before being hung at the Tyburn gallows, a practice that stopped at the end of the 18th century. Every Sunday people from all sorts of convictions come to Hyde Park in the afternoon to spead their message or to have fun.

A very happy atmosphere and the children are really engaging with the songs, stories and activities. New links with children from Sarisbury school and others. Fewer junior helpers this year but more opportunities for them to feel needed and valued.

One Jnr helper told Penny today ‘I love this place!!! I can come here and be myself and help the kids and it’s just great.’

Pray for the kids, young helpers and our older ones too. Lots of lovely connections and interesting conversations.

Great start to the Polar Explorers Holiday Club 2024
The children enjoyed some Quizzes, Crafts, DVD’s, Bible Stories, Activities, Games and lots more!

Great to lead the Baptism service for Lacie this mornings as part of our Easter Morning Service.
Lacie first contact with us was coming to the Friday ‘Kids Klub’ we run at Duncan Road Church, she has also been a regular on our Houseparties and Camps.

My last Easter school assembly is with the little ones at Marchwood Infants School, Hants. It is only when I see them walking in and sitting down that I realise how small some of them are! Glad to have Penny with me and taking part, so another opportunity to share the Easter message!
