Our Faithful Queen
Good to leave copies of this beautifully illustrated book into three care homes this morning. They were very well recieved and it was gret to catch up with staff at Hawthorne Court Nursing Home, before Covid Penny & myself were involved in leading monthly services, we hope that in a few months time we might be able to restart these actiivities.
Our Faithful Queen is a unique souvenir that celebrates 70 remarkable years of the Queen, highlighting her huge work and achievements, and also her Christian faith.
Queen Elizabeth II has a strong Christian faith, this has been evident throughout her life in her words and actions, as well as her formal role as, ‘Defender of the Faith and Supreme Governor of the Church of England’, which came with monarchy, her personal faith was evident even before she was crowned.
‘Pray for me … that God may give me wisdom and strength to carry out the solemn promises I shall be making, and that I may faithfully serve Him and you, all the days of my life.’
That was the prayer request made by Queen Elizabeth II, in her first Christmas broadcast in 1952. Her Christmas broadcasts to the Commonwealth, are among the few speeches she writes herself, they frequently refer to Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity.
‘For me the teachings of Christ and my own personal accountability before God provide a framework in which I try to lead my life.’

Bible Passage: Leviticus chapter 6 verse 8 to chapter 7 verse 38
We are enjoing a series in the old Testament book called Leviticus.
The first word in Leviticus is Wayyiqra’, meaning “and God called.” That’s what Leviticus means: God calls people to meet with him and shows them how they are to come and walk before him.
The exact meaning of the Church, the ekklesia, is the “called out ones.” We are also those who have been called out. In that day, God spoke from the Tabernacle and asked them to come to him. Today, the Lord Jesus calls us to himself.
